COLIN WOOD MEMORIAL PARK

On Sunday the Town Council was pleased to welcome family members of former Mayor and Town Councillor Colin Wood for the unveiling of a sign to mark the renaming of Measham Road Recreation Ground as the Colin Wood Memorial Park.

Colin served as a Town Councillor for over 30 years and represented the parish twice as Town Mayor. During this time he was instrumental in creating the sports facilities at Measham Road which are currently used by Marlborough Rovers FC. Colin sadly passed away during the pandemic in December 2020. He is sorely missed and fondly remembered and we hope he would be proud to be honoured in this way.
